I’m Marlene Heidemann, the founder and sole clinician at MindFire Counselling & Neurofeedback Inc. I provide trauma-informed, compassionate counselling in a confidential setting for individuals facing life’s challenges—whether it's everyday stress, relationship and family dynamics, burnout, recovery from injury, or major life transitions.
As an Occupationally Aware Healthcare Provider, I offer culturally competent mental health support for Public Safety Personnel (PSP) and their loved ones. With specialized training and personal insight into uniformed front-line professions and paramilitary work culture, I understand the unique pressures, values, and unspoken expectations that influence mental health in these high-stress environments. My practice is built around supporting individuals who serve in demanding roles while helping them maintain psychological health and operational readiness.
My clinical work includes supporting post-traumatic operational stress injuries (OSI) and helping clients restore capacity following exposure to critical incidents, cumulative stress, or work-related psychological strain. As a mental health responder to first responders, I provide a safe, confidential space to navigate complex challenges and maintain emotional equilibrium.
I also offer neurofeedback, a neuroscience-based intervention that supports nervous system regulation, cognitive flexibility, and emotional resilience. For Public Safety Personnel, neurofeedback is a powerful tool in restoring focus, reducing reactivity, and building self-regulation—all essential components of fit-for-duty readiness. It can be integrated into counselling or accessed as a stand-alone service.
